We help families or individuals in need with emergency assistance.
Description:
St. Vincent De Paul has served Billings Montana since 1972. We use volunteers and paid staff to assist families in need with emergency assistance for food, clothing, household items, medical needs, lodging, utilities, travel, etc. We are supported by private local donors. We assist people of all nations, races and faiths.
History:
The St. Vincent De Paul Society was founded in Paris, France, by Catholic college students, led by Frederic Ozanam, in 1833. It is a Catholic Lay Organization that assists those in need. There are thousands of local "Conferences" around the world. These Conferences have a volunteer membership, and raise local funds to support local needs. Each Conference chooses its primary local ministry of assistance. The first Conference in Billings was established in 1972. There are currently 3 conferences in Billings. Members visit and assist those in need locally, and support the Charity Office at 2610 Montana Ave. in Billings.
