The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement. It is the mission of the American Red Cross to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
Description:
Harness the power of every individual through education, training and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger and better prepared to respond to disasters of all kinds. We do this by offering CPR/FA and other safety related classes. We train volunteers to respond to emergencies and offer help to those who have experienced a disaster. We offer training and educational literature to the public on preventing and preparing for disasters. We also act as a liaison for military members and their families during emergencies.
