Description:
The Nike Club Run SF training series is a fifteen-week program designed to prepare runners for the Nike Womens Marathon or Half Marathon on October 21, 2007. We are looking for aid station volunteers to set up tables with water and Gatorade. The pay is $20 per person, plus a Nike shirt, OR $200 for a group of people who handle all the aid station needs on a given day, plus Nike shirts for all. Runners will have the option of varying courses, from 4 – 22 miles. Courses are led by pace leaders, and supplied by Gatorade, Clif Shot, Luna Bar and water aid stations approximately every 2-3 miles. Runners can trial Nike products including shoes, sunglasses, watches and the Nike+ ipod system. Sunday runs will be held from August 12th to October 14th at 7:00am to 11:30am.
History:
This is the fourth year of Club Run in San Francisco, the first year to be in Danville. The 2007 Nike Women's Marathon sold out in 3 days with over 17,000 registrants! Race proceeds benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and participation is 96% female. CRSF touched the lives of over 3,000 participants in 2006, and over 2,500 participants in 2005. The 2006 CRSF Kick Off event, a special day where women come together to run their first training mile as a group, was attended by over 600 in SF and over 200 in Palo Alto.
