Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of nurturing environments. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, even prison as adults. That's where CASA steps in. CASA was created to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court.

Description:
CASA volunteers are ordinary people who are committed to doing what is best for children. All our volunteers are trained in courtroom procedure, social services, the juvenile justice system, and the special needs of abused and neglected children. We welcome volunteers from all cultures, professions, ethnic and educational backgrounds. We need dedicated, caring adults who have a desire to work with children from birth to age 18, placed out of their homes due to abuse and neglect. We only ask that our volunteers be at least 21 years of age, complete our 36 hours of training, and clear all interviews and background checks prior to being appointed.
Thank you for your interest, we look forward to hearing from you!
