Volunteers advocating for dignity, quality of life, and quality of care for residents of Long-Term Care facilities throughout Alameda County.
Description:
Ombudsmen are trained and licensed through the State of California to ensure that the residents of Long-Term Care facilities (skilled nursing and residential care facilities) are treated with dignity, and that they are cared for kindly, and well. Ombudsmen help the residents to advocate for themselves, and to ensure that the residents' rights are respected.
History:
In accordance with a Federal Mandate in 1977, Ombudsmen have been acting on behalf of residents of Long-Term Care facilities in Alameda County for 30 years.
