The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority is committed to provide transportation services within the constraints of our suburban and financial environment. The Authority will also aggressively promote the expanded use of transit through creative implementation of programs and services to the communities we serve in order to improve air quality, reduce traffice congestion and energy consumption.
Description:
The Authority operates fixed-route buses seven days a week and also administers the delivery of paratransit services in the 200 square mile central County service area.
History:
The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority (CCCTA) was established on March 27, 1980 to coordinate, integrate and expand transit service in central Contra Costa County. CCCTA is constituted as a joint powers agency of 11 jurisdictions which include the cities of: Clayton, Concord, Lafayette, Martinez, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Walnut Creek; the towns of Danville and Moraga, and the unincorporated areas of central Contra Costa County.
