The Rosie The Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the contributions of the men and women who worked on the World War II home front in Richmond, CA and across the nation.
Description:
Our park works in close partnership with the City of Richmond and other organizations to tell the rich and diverse stories of the men and women who worked in the Kaiser Shipyards and other essential home front industries in Richmond and across the nation. Our park consists of several sites including the Rosie the Riveter Memorial on the Bay Trail in Marina Bay neighborhood of Richmond, the historic Kaiser Shipyard No. 3, and the Ford Assembly Building.
History:
The National Park Service was established by the Organic Act in 1916 in order to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.
