Our mission is to provide service and assistance to seniors that will foster independence, promote safety and well-being, preserve dignity and improve quality of life.

Description:
SSPTV is an independent, non-profit agency serving seniors over 60 in the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and Sunol since 1981. We provide a wide variety of free services including case-management, chore-worker registries, family caregiver support, alcohol and drug education and counseling, nutrition and exercise education and classes, health screening, a falls prevention program and a volunteer Friendly Visitor program.
Volunteers are matched with seniors in the Friendly Visitor program, group projects help seniors maintain their homes, luncheons for isolated seniors promote socialization and friendships and in-home exercise programs with volunteer coaches help decrease falls, improve health and well-being, and promote independence.

History:
SSPTV began in 1981 with the Friendly Visitor program and expanded as needs were identified. We now have 21 employees for a total of 10 full-time equivalents. We serve approximately 1200 seniors a year with our various programs. Funding is provided through the Alameda County Departments of Area Agency on Aging, Public Health, Behavioral Health, and In-Home Supportive Services; cities of Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin; Kaiser Permanente; Supervisor Scott Haggerty; funds from Measure A; and private donations.
