The Covenant House Mission commits us to “serve, protect, and safeguard all homeless and at-risk children and youth… with absolute respect and unconditional love.” We are an affiliate of the international Covenant House, the oldest, most established provider of shelter for youth in the U.S.
Description:
Principal programs of Covenant House California-Oakland include the following: a Street Outreach Program (outreach counselors offer clothing, food, crisis counseling, and emergency shelter referrals); a Community Service Center (includes crisis intervention and case management, employment/careers assistance, educational skills program, and music program); and a Youth Crisis Shelter (Youth are provided a bed, a clothing storage unit, access to showers, and food. Youth are in school, working jobs, and transitioning from their lives on the streets. The shelter gives the youth access to a community of people who are invested in their well-being.)
