Mary's House of Mercy is a residential facility for women ages 18 and over who are pregnant and in crisis. A woman who is referred to Mary's House of Mercy maybe experiencing poverty, homelessness, family violence, lack of prenatal care, or another situation that jeopardizes her well being and the future of her unborn child. Our mission is to assist women during their pregnancy by providing basic need of a safe-home environment, food and clothing while supporting them to become self-sufficient.
Description:
While providing care and support in a family living atmosphere, Mary's House also attends to the emotional, spiritual and educational and occupational development of each resident. During pregnancy and up to six months after her baby's birth, each resident is encouraged to work toward her educational and career goals while preparing to live independently. Although Mary's House is run by a Catholic non-profit organization, we serve all faiths without regard to religious affiliation since 2002.
History:
Mary's House was established as a corporal works of mercy by the Divine Mercy Eucharistic Society, a nonprofit lay apostolic group formed in 1990. DMES runs a Perpetual Adoration Chapel in El Cerrito (Mary's House also has a chapel for adoration). We invite you visit our chapels for solemn prayer and Eucharistic Adoration.
