American Cancer Society - Cancer Resource Network, Oakland
Powered by Truist

Last updated on July 2, 2008

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description:
Cancer patients face many challenges: variable access to care, lack of knowledge of local resources and treatment options, insurance inequities, legal issues such as discrimination in the workplace, and care for loved ones during treatment absences. The diversity of California’s population makes these issues especially acute. The American Cancer Society’s Stephanie H. Lane Cancer Resource Network offers personalized guidance through this difficult journey.
