It is the mission of the Lighthouse Community Center (LCC) to serve the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) and Questioning Community and Allies in Southern Alameda County. We are a Resource Center and catalyst for community building, providing communication, education, support, social activites and programs in a safe and substance-free environment. The Lighthouse Community Center is committed to becoming the beacon of light for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) and Questioning people in Southern Alameda County and strives to become a catalyst for building community that bridges divisions, provides safety and creates hope.
Description:
The Lighthouse Community Center provides support groups, a free Cyber Center and resource library, educational forums, social activities, Youth Program, a safe and substance-free meeting space, computer classes, and networking space to meet with community members. We work to provide support to LGBT parents in the Hayward Unified School District and conduct Violence Prevention and Education workshops for providers in Southern Alameda County.
History:
The Lighthouse Community Center began in June of 2000 to serve as a Community Center for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community. Located in Hayward, we serve the LGBT Community in Southern Alameda County. We have sponsored support groups, social activies and educational programs, such as Marriage Equality and Suicide Prevention.
