In partnership with the community, we are dedicated to ending sexual assault and family violence through prevention, crisis services and treatment.

Description:
Since 1974, Community Violence Solutions (CVS) has been providing a wide range of services for child and adult victims of sexual assault and family violence, and to the community. Programs include The Rape Crisis Center, Sexual Assault Response Team, Stepping Stones Counseling Center, The Children's Interview Center and Prevention Services. Last year, CVS served over 1,700 clients, over 60% of which are children, and reached over 10,000 individuals through community outreach and prevention education.

History:
Community Violence Solutions began as The Rape Crisis Center of West Contra Costa in 1974. It was incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit organization in 1977. Since then, the agency has grown significantly, both in its scope of services and geographic area served. Today, CVS serves all of Contra Costa and Marin Counties through a variety of specialized programs. In 2002, the agency name was changed to Community Violence Solutions to better reflect the range of services provided and our commitment to breaking the cycle of violence.
