Our mission is to keep people alive and safe, help them through a crisis, and connect them to additional resources. Licensed therapists and award-winning volunteers provide immediate counseling, emotional support, and resource information to Contra Costa County residents, over our 24 hour crisis lines, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Description:
The Crisis Center provides crisis line counseling, suicide prevention, grief counseling, homeless services, and information and referrals.
History:
The Contra Costa Crisis Center is a private, non-profit agency that has been in operation since 1963. Services are provided by over 200 volunteers and 18 staff members. Crisis line counseling and grief counseling are provided by volunteers free of charge. New volunteers are welcome and needed. Anyone 21 or older is eligible for training.
