The National Fragile X Foundation (Fragile X syndrome is the most common cause of genetically-inherited mental impairment) unites the Fragile X community to enrich lives through education & emotional support, promote public and professional awareness & advance research toward improved treatments and a cure.
Description:
The NFXF provides the following services free to individuals, families, professionals, institutions and students involved with or impacted by fragile x syndrome: Telephone consultation; a basic informational packet and referral to medical, genetic and support services. The following fee services are also available: Membership (various levels- all of which receive quarterly journals)and Educational resources (books, videos and CDs)
History:
Located today in Walnut Creek CA,The NFXF was founded in 1984 and has grown to international recognition. The foundation is dedicated to educational and legislative advocacy and furthers research through grants. The Foundation also sponsors local, national and international conferences
