To sponsor and maintain Buenas Vidas as a ranch for youth in Southern Alameda County, where opportunities to be part of a rural environment may teach self-worth and primary values for better living. Further, the ranch will serve primarily as a place for transition when youth find themselves alienated within their own home environment.
Description:
Buenas Vidas Thrift store is the fund raising aspect for the Youth Ranch. We are open 7 days of the week, excluding major holidays, from 10 - 5. We have openings in many departments. From cashier, restocking, cleaning, sorting, and gardening. We also have yearly fund-raising events, such as our Easter Egg Hunt, and Chili Cookoff. We have weekly Bingo, on Wednesday and Friday Nights in which we are always in need of volunteers to run it.
History:
Buenas Vidas Youth ranch was incorporated in 1974 as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3)corporation. Buenas Vidas Youth Ranch has continually operated group homes and other programs for youth since that time. These programs have all been operated in the Livermore/Pleasanton/Dublin areas of California and through the years have served thousands of teenagers.
