The Respite Inn
Powered by Truist

Last updated on April 14, 2008

The Respite Inn is designed to protect and strengthen the ability of families to provide the necessary support so that adults with developmental disabilities can continue to reside in their homes and communities. The purpose of The Respite Inn is to support families in their commitment to maintain their family member with developmental disabilities in their home, by giving them periodic breaks from caretaking responsibilities.

Description:
The Respite Inn is designed like a "bed and breakfast" so families can be assured their family member who has developmental disabilities is given the best level of care. The Respite Inn provides planned and emergency respite care. The Respite Inn is a unique and essential service where people come from all of Northern California to receive this type of service.

History:
The Respite Inn was incorporated in 1989 and opened it's door in 1990. The Respite Inn was formed through the collaborative efforts of Executive Directors of several agencies that serve individuals with developmental disabilities. Many of the Executive Directors still currently serve on the Board of Directors of The Resptite Inn.
