Oakland Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House is a one-year residence for single women and women with children who have experienced the poverty of homelessness, violence or addiction. Our mission is to support women and children in their transition to independence. We are dedicated to creating, nurturing and maintaining a cooperative living environment of hospitality and respect in the Catholic Worker tradition.

From the major freeways, merge onto Highway #24:
If you are on #24E, please take the Claremont Exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Claremont Ave. At the 2nd set of lights, vere left onto Colby St. Follow Colby St. till it reaches St. Augustine Church on Alcatraz. Take a right and then immediate left into Colby. We are the large house on the left hand side of the street after the school.
If you are on #24W, please take the College St. exit. Drive to College St. Turn right on College and drive through the village to Alcatraz St. Turn left on Alcatraz. Drive four blocks to Colby ST. Turn right on Colby. We are the first house on the left after the school.
From Downtown Berkeley: Drive south on Telegraph Ave. to Alcatraz St. Turn left on Alcatraz and drive to Colby St. (just after St. Augustine church). Turn left on Colby St. We are the first house on the left, just past the school.
From Downtown Oakland: Drive north on Telegraph Ave. to Alcatraz St. Turn right on Alcatraz and drive to Colby St. (just after St. Augustine church). Turn left on Colby St. We are the first house on the left, just past the school.
