The East Bay SPCA is committed to finding good homes for all adoptable animals in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

Description:
The East Bay SPCA provides shelter to homeless dogs and cats and helps find them good, loving homes. We, also, offer low cost spay and neuter service, dog training, and educational programs. We receive NO government funding. Volunteer service is critical to our operation.

History:
The Oakland SPCA began in 1874 to protect working horses and farm animals. The first shelter was opened in downtown Oakland in 1922. The organization moved to Baldwin Street in 1957. In 1994 the Peoplesoft Adoption Center opened its doors; 1998 the Maddie's Spay and Neuter Center opened in Oakland; 2001 opened the Tri-Valley adoption center in Dublin.
