History:
The American Cancer Society opened this Discovery Shop in Walnut Creek in 1974.The store has one paid manager and a newly created position of a paid assistant manager. The remaining staff is still made up entirely of Volunteers. The Volunteer base of each shop ranges from 40 to 150 dedicated, hardworking and loving human beings. Many have been touched by cancer in some personal way and their passion for this generous contribution of time, energy, skills and spirit runs very deeply.
