Description:
Ralph J. Bunche High School aims to transform student struggle in school to student success. Students will be exposed to a variety of academic challenges and rigorous new learning experiences that go beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. We strive to build motivation for success in school and beyond through positive relationships between students and adults, genuine community “real world” engagement and career connections across the curriculum and academic support for students at all levels. We are a school for students who benefit from a small, safe school environment.
History:
In 2005, the school (formerly a middle school) went through a re-design process to begin developing into a high school program focused on 9th grade students needing additional support to reach grade-level standards. The school is now converting into a Continuation School, serving students aged 16-18 who need additional support to make up skills and credits in order to graduate. The school will be opening in Fall, 2008 to approximately 270 students.
