Our mission is to support low-income, disadvantanged and elderly residents of Alameda County in their efforts to improve self-sufficiency and overall quality of life.
Description:
We provide services for seniors such as meals and nutrition education, fall prevention exercise classes, housing vouchers, and employment. One need is for help with the Fall Prevention classes. We go out to the various senior centers and community centers and teach classes that include exercise, and education about how to prevent falls. These classes have been extremely popular partly because we create an environment of acceptance and fun! We also need help with our Senior Nutrition program helping prepare meals for senior sites.
History:
We have been serving Alameda County since 1972 and have a very good standing in the community. We help people who cannot pay their PG&E bills, we help seniors with energy efficiency in their homes, and we teach health and exercise classes.
