Powered by Truist

Last updated on June 26, 2008

To address the enormous visual and ocular health needs of the poor in developing countries by helping to create permanent,self-sustaining local optical laboratories and primary eye care clinics, and supporting them with training and low-cost eye wear.

Description:
Help the World See, a non-profit 501(c)(3)charity has helped thousands of poor people overseas find new, productive lives through improved vision. We are a small, informal foundation run by a largely-volunteer Board of retirees and others with 'day jobs' who find time to serve. We support independent clinics in Belize, Honduras,Bolivia,Guyana, Antigua, St Lucia, Liberia, Ghana and Kenya, and work with other related international agencies. Visit our website--www.helptheworldsee.org to learn much more. Volunteers needed--you can be a Helper with us!

History:
We were founded in 1989 by an experienced Army officer turned Optometrist who recognized the vast need of the poor populations overseas for primary eye care via permanent professional local diagnosis and treatment. He died in 1999 and his work is carried on by our small staff, dedicated to expand our service capacity and staff,to grow the existing local clinics and develop new ones to serve new markets overseas. Join us in our good work--call 925.935.6005.
