This volunteer opportunity is provided by a grassroots organization of friends of the San Pablo Creek called SPAWNERS. We are working to restore the natural habitat along the creek banks of the San Pablo Creek in all public lands and hope to inspire our neighbors to do the same in their private backyards. Our current main re-vegetation project is at the El SObrante Public Library grounds. We hold our workdays the Second Saturday of every month, from 9:30 to 12:30 AM, at the restoration project located in the creek banks of San Pablo creek behind the El Sobrante Library. 4191 Appian Way, El Sobrante. Newcomers are always welcome. Our workdays are not only educational, but also serve to protect the native habitat for local wildlife and restore the creek banks. For more information or to register call Juliana at 510-6653538 or juliana@thewatershedproject.org
Great for any age and skill level. We have tasks that range from light weeding to placing erosion control fabrics or mulching steep slopes. We also plant during the fall/winter and propagate plants during the spring/fall. Pre-registration is not required but prefered to help plan for tools and snacks. This opportunity is sponsored by: SPAWNERS
