Students of the Gardening Program of Mt. Diablo Adult Ed., Boys Scouts, Contra Costa Master Gardeners, and all other interested volunteers are teaming up with the City to create a beautiful and water conserving garden at the Pleasant Hill Adult Education Center near Pleasant Hill Middle School. It will serve as a demonstration garden using healthy gardening, water conservation, and recycling methods and drought tolerant plantings. The garden will be used for educational and recreational purposes for school and community members. Volunteers will be asked to do a variety of tasks: Mix soil, dig basins, spread compose, weeding, building bridges and raised beds, design and construct benches, arbors, tool sheds.
