We are in need of a minimum of four and a maximum of ten volunteers for this special event. Children and families will be listening to a lovely music group that sings songs from Mexico, Central and South America. The activities we will be providing for children and their families will be: an art project, like decorating maracas or hats; doing a cookie walk (kind of like musical chairs except you win a cookie); and taking pictures of children and families for them to have to remember the event. Volunteers are needed to help with: setting up and decorating; food preparation and serving lunch and possibly helping to run a children's activity booth. We have several goals for this event.
- To provide opportunities for parents and children to engage in fun, child friendly activities together that enhance the parent-child relationship.
- To build a strong school community which encourages parent involvement in their child's education beginning at an early age.
- To demonstrate appreciation of our many families with Latin American Heritage by celebrating Latin American Culture through food, music, art, games and friendship.
- To build strong relationships between staff and families.
Please consider volunteering with us for this fun, one-time event!!!
There is no training required for this volunteer opportunity. Each volunteer will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy of our children and families, many of whom are in foster care or who have other difficulties. This opportunity is sponsored by: Seneca Center
