Off work or school on Monday? This Memorial Day support the freedom fighters of today. In just a few hours, you can help raise resources towards self-determination and economic development of the African community. Your time is valuable! Millions of dollars of federal money is given to cities across the country to address poverty. However, conditions in the African community remain virtually the same. In Oakland, CA 1 out of every 5 families of 4 lives on less than $15,000 a year. No matter who is mayor, the city of Oakland spends money on more police while East and West Oakland continue to see no economic development that benefits the community. Help promote Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles by participating with our marketing project to get furniture donations. 100% of our proceeds goes to the African people's Education and Defense Fund. www.apedf.org. It's easy! Just meet up with us on site for an introduction and we'll spread out into the target neighborhood. We'll work in teams and hang fliers door to door. We don't knock on doors or solicit. It's like taking a walk... but you contribute to social change. Bring your family and friends! Water and snacks provided.
Please be punctual and dressed for walking. This opportunity is sponsored by: Uhuru Furniture
