ALTERNATIVES IN ACTION IS MOVING TO A NEW ALAMEDA LOCATION!

We need your help readying our new space to make the big move happen.

What are Community Build Days?

Our 2008 Community Build Days are opportunities for children, youth and adults to participate in preparing and creating Alternative in Action’s new Woodstock Campus home at 1900 Third Street in Alameda.

Typical projects might include sanding, painting and removing fixtures. No construction experience is necessary. All tools will be provided plus water, breakfast and lunch. Please arrive by 8:45 AM for the instructional meeting and it would be ideal if volunteers can help until 3:00 PM.

Upcoming builds:

May 3rd, 10th, and 17th

This is our biggest build event for us this year. Please don’t miss this opportunity to provide tangible results for our new home.

I cannot attend any of these Build Days, how else can I help?

Food Donations: We are looking for breakfast, water and lunch donations, including supplies, for our volunteers on all three Community Build Days. Please let us know if you are able to help us find donated food items or goods.

Build Experts: Are you certified as an electrician, painter, plumber, or carpenter? We need leads for Community Build Day projects. There are other non-Build Day opportunities for experts. Please ask how you can help.

Photographers: We are looking for professional photographers to capture our community of volunteers renovating our new campus.

PR/Marketing/Web: Prior to the event, we are looking for professionals to help us promote and advertise our renovation and pending move.

Spread the word, recruit your family and friends and join us in May!
