Your time is valuable! Make a difference this summer. Spend your volunteer time spreading the word about social justice for the African (black) community while enjoying the sunshine at various Art & Wine Festivals throughout the Bay Area!
We go as a group to pass out leaflets promoting donations of furniture, vehicles, hot tubs and collectibles to Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles which is a fundraiser for the African People's Education & Defense Fund who's mission is to build campaigns to address the disparity in social justice, economic development, health and education of the African (black) community. Check out www.apedf.org. Individuals and groups welcome!
This campaign will be most Saturdays through October. See below for a calendar. The shift including travel time to and from the Festival is from 10am-2pm.
We will meet at Uhuru Furniture, 3742 Grand Ave in Oakland, just 3 blocks from the Grand Lake Theatre. Or if you live closer to the Festival, we can arrange to meet.
