OUR NEXT TRAINING BEGINS SEPTEMBER 23rd 2008. We offer a 10-week course where volunteers receive extensive training on a variety of topics including rape trauma syndrome, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, counseling skills and working with the legal system. After successful completion of the training, our volunteers become STATE CERTIFIED RAPE CRISIS COUNSELORS for the state of California. The training is free with a 9-month commitment of 36 on-call hours per month--a combination of on-call time on our 24-hour hotline (which can be taken from home)and on our police/hospital accompaniment team.
