Mission Statement of Canon Hospice To provide comfort care to all people in the final phase of life.
Description:
Canon Hospice provides individualized programs of physical, emotional, spiritual and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness emphasizing control of pain and other symptoms. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible in familiar surroundings. Hospice care is centered on both the patient and family/caregiver. Canon's personnel respect and respond to the unique differences in family/caregiver, lifestyle, value and wishes.
History:
Canon has been offering hospice care for over seven years. We are one of the few hospice organizations to offer inpatient care. This is an ideal environment in managing pain when unable to get relief at home.(Pain is a big issue in our patients life) We now offer a bereavement support group on the first and third Tuesday of every month.
