Living History Docent at Gallier House Museum
Explore your creative side and recreate history! Learn to demonstrate 19th-century housekeeping practices and interpret these activities to museum visitors. Living History demonstrations include natural dyeing, woodworking, needlework, and fancy food preparation. All demonstrations are based on 19th-century sources and use authentic materials. Demonstrations are held every Wednesday from October through May. Living history volunteers receive free parking while volunteering and a discount in the gift shop. We want volunteers with good interpersonal skills, a friendly manner, the ability to speak in public or a willingness to learn, and an interest in history. Teaching or presentation experience is a plus but not necessary. This opportunity is sponsored by: Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses Volunteers will work with the following groups
