Bridging The Gap is hosting two more of its popular document-shredding events, and 20 volunteers are needed to help with each! This is a great way to help people protect themselves against identity theft and also be able to recycle their shredded documents.
Locations:
- May 17 event - Overland Park Community Recycling Center, 11921 Hardy;
- June 21 event – 3 Trails Community Recycling Center, 91st and Hillcrest Rd.
Volunteer shifts are 8-11:30 and 11:30-3 for the May 17 event, and 8-11 and 11-2 for the June 21 event. 10 volunteers needed per shift.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER.
Volunteers will help unload cars and carry documents to the shredder, which will be operated by PROSHRED ®. To sign up, call Laura O’Brien at 816-561-1061, ext. 109 or e-mail lobrien@bridgingthegap.org.
All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver, and for volunteers younger than 18, the waiver must be co-signed by a parent or legal guardian.
