 Act as waiting room host or hostess to children and families.. Volunteers in this position will have the chance to entertain children and/or their families waiting for various services in our waiting room. This volunteer must be good at interacting with children and adults, especially in emotional situations. Volunteers interested in this position must keep in mind that it is difficult to know when clients will at our facility. Family Care Advocate volunteers MUST be flexible and willing to help with other projects if there are not clients in the waiting room when the volunteer is scheduled. This position requires very specialized training. Volunteers interested in this position must complete and submit a volunteer application. The application will then be reviewed by the Development Coordinator and the volunteer will be contacted to set up an interview. Those interested in this position must be at least 18 and must pass a background check. This volunteer position also requires very specialized training and all Sunflower House volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation and a Mandated Reporter Training.
