A friendly visitor is a very special person, someone who gives their time generously to helping others. Summit Pointe’s goal is to help people with developmental disabilities and mental illness to participate and become active in community activities. A friendly visitor gives the opportunity for one on one contact and to enrich, as well as enhance, the quality of life for both the volunteer and their new friend. This can be accomplished by providing recreational opportunities and other positive growth experiences. A friendly visitor needs to have experience working with developmentally disabled and mentally impaired individuals. This special person will need to be committed and consistent. We are looking for individuals that can commit to 6months-1yr. Matches are made based on interests, compatibility and location. Volunteers must complete application, interview process, reference checks, orientation and any additional trainings that may occur. This opportunity is sponsored by: Summit Pointe
