The Chamber's mission is to foster cooperation among business, government, and the community at large, to promote a positive environment that contributes to the economic vitality of the region, to promote growth and tourism and enhance the overall quality of life.
Description:
The Chamber provides information to tourists, the local community and those interested in relocating to the area. We sponsor a number of events throughout the year that are culturally enriching as well as entertaining. The types of events we sponsor help in making the Westerly-Pawcatuck area a wonderful place to live, work and play. Some of these events are the Duck Race in the Pawcatuck River, the Virtu Arts Festival in Wilcox Park, movies on the beach throughout the summer, the Holiday Stroll, Riverglow, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Wine Tasting event, the Brews & Blues Festival, and the Great Escape Auction in May.
History:
The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce represents a major portion of the Westerly-Pawcatuck area's business and professional community. The 975 member businesses of The Chamber represent many aspects of the business world. From local retail trade and professional services to manufacturing and international exporting, Chamber members provide goods and services, jobs, and tax revenue to benefit our residents, our community, and our world. Primary objectives of The Chamber include creating a strong business voice and improving the local economy while maintaining the area's high quality of livability.
