Preparation is the best response.
Description:
Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) in partnership with the RI Chapter of the American Red Cross are training volunteers for disaster relief. In the event of a city wide disaster or crisis, Providence would need over 400 volunteers to operate our emergency shelters. We need your help to ensure that providence residents are taken care of in a disaster or crisis.
History:
Providence EMA was established in 1983 to fulfill the four phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. These phases will help minimize the risk of loss of life and property in a disaster or crisis.
