The mission of Westbay is to assist the economically disadvantaged and elderly to achieve self sufficiency.
Description:
Westbay provides service to the residents of Kent County primarily and offers a variety of services to residents of Providence, Cranston, and South County as well. It is a multi service agency offering child care and education, family and elder case management, feeding programs for elders and children, emergency service (such as food and shelter) heating assistance, affordable rental and home ownership opportunities, WIC, RSVP, Weatherization of homes.
History:
Westbay was established in 1966 and is one of 8 Community Action Programs in RI and 1100 nationally. It was established by federal legislation known as the "War on Poverty." It has extensive experience providing service to the community.
