To promote, advocate and work for the elimination for domestic violence and embody and give visibility to the voices of abused women.
Description:
SOAR is a taskforce of RICADV made up of survivors of domestic violence. We are a grassroots group working to identify issues that keep women and children from living violence free lives.
History:
SOAR was established by a group of survivors of domestic violence in 1989. We have since worked with RICADV on safer phone options for women, have lobbied for laws around the child custody and visitation system to ensure safe visitations.Furthermore, we serve as a model for other survivor groups around the country. We have presented our model of working to survivors and professionals in Colorado, Texas and Hawaii.
