Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island (HHCRI) provides compassionate, professional, state-of-the-art physical, emotional and spiritual care for all people facing life-threatening illness at any stage of life and in any setting they choose.
Description:
HHCRI specializes in the delivery of interdisciplinary care, coordinated and individualized for each patient and their caregiver(s). We collaborate among varied disciplines to enable patients to live comfortably in a familiar place surrounded by people they know and love.
History:
Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island is the oldest and largest independent hospice agency in the state and the third oldest in the nation. It is a non-profit, statewide organization fully licensed by the State and by Medicare as both a home care and hospice agency. HHCRI was founded in 1976 by a group of volunteers who donated their time and dedication for the compassion of others which is the hallmark of hospice care. We have two office locations with one in Pawtucket and our South County office on Main Street in Wakefield, R.I. We also have a ten bed In-Patient unit which is known as the Hulitar In-Patient Unit in Proivdence. HHCRI currently provides care to patients in their homes, LTC-Long Term Care (Nursing Homes), and General In-Patient care at local hospitals. We also have 2 hospice suites at Westerly Hospital
