The mission of Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island is to advance the fundamental right of every individual to reproductive self-determination through advocacy, education, protection of the right to privacy, and access to comprehensive, quality health care services.

Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island is a private nonprofit agency, providing high quality, affordable and confidential family planning services.
We provide reproductive health care, counseling and education to women and men of all ages.
We encourage people to make healthy choices when considering their reproductive health.
Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island envisions a future where we serve a community in which women and men are able to make informed personal decisions concerning their sexual and reproductive lives free of public interference and societal bias — a world in which every child is a wanted child.
History:
Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island is a non-profit reproductive health organization that has been helping women, men and teens make responsible choices for more than 75 years. Since 1931, Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island has been committed to delivering the highest quality reproductive health care, providing responsible and age-appropriate sex education and has been working diligently to protect a woman’s right to choose. Each year more than 8,000 women, men and teens visit our health center.
Our knowledgeable team of caring professionals includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinicians, medical assistants and community educators.
Our community educators provide a wide range of progressive responsible sex education programs to over 1,500 youth, parents and professionals per year throughout the state both on site and in the community. Call for information at (401) 421-7820 ext 3117.
Our health center is conveniently located and offers a wide range of reproductive health care services. We provide daytime, evening and Saturday hours. Call our appointment/information line at 1-800-230-PLAN.
All Planned Parenthood services are individualized and confidential. Your decision to be abstinent or to be sexually active and to use birth control is personal and private.
