Looking Upwards supports adults and children with developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community. Our mission is to recognize each persons individuality and right to lead their own lives in ways that hold personal meaning and self satisfaction.

Description:
ADULTS - HOME

At Looking Upwards, we support adults with
developmental disabilities to create a home life
they will enjoy as well as satisfaction in all areas
of their lives.

We offer residential services to meet each person's
needs - ranging from 24-hour support in a shared
living arrangement, to part time assistance for people
living in their own apartments or with family.

Our staff foster independence while supporting people
to meet personal goals. The focus may include developing meaningful relationships, achieving personal health and safety, staying connected to family, enjoying days rich with activities and experiences and becoming active members of the community.

ADULTS - VOCATIONAL/DAY SERVICES

In our Day Enrichment Program, we listen to the desires and interests of each person and assist with creating a personalized schedule. Activities may include volunteering, developing new skills and hobbies, connecting with others and enjoying the local community.

For those desiring employment, we assist with every phase of developing satisfying work. We help people to identify their strengths and work interests through vocational assessments and opportunities to try out specific jobs. We provide preparation for the job, on-the-job training, consultation with employers and the option of long term supports to ensure career success.

CHILDREN - CREATIVE APPROACHES TO SUCCESS

Our programs for children facing diverse challenges promote success at home, school and in the community.

For young people, the world is full of new experiences, Looking Upwards' staff provides the support for children and young adults with medical, behavioral or psychiatric needs to enjoy and learn from their participation in the world around them.

We offer a wide array of services including:

· Therapeutic support for children and families

· Creative approaches to success at school

· Assistance with school to career transitions

· A summer of learning and adventure at Summer Fun Days - a camp for children of all abilities
