CareNet-RI is a non-profit agency committed to support, equip and empower individuals in the areas of reproduction and sexual health through education, advocacy and mentoring.

Description:
CareNet- RI provides many services to the people of Rhode Island. First, we provide pregnancy tests and pre-abortion consultation to women and men who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. We now offer "limited" ultrasound imaging to clients at no cost. In addition, we offer a program called SELF. It is a program that focuses on sexual wholeness and how to heal from an abusive sexual past. Thirdly, we offer post abortion counseling to women who have experienced an abortion and recognize the need for healing in their lives.

History:
In August of 1985, individuals from South County met to form a steering committee. Their desire was to enable women and men to make informed decisions regarding their unplanned pregnancies. On May 1, 1989 the Center officially opened its doors as the South County Crisis Pregnancy Center in Wakefield, Rhode Island. In order to be more centrally located in the state, we moved to Cranston with our new name, Care Net- Rhode Island.
