The Rhode Island Educational Opportunity Center promotes access to higher education and training to the adult community. We are committed to enhancing the educational and economic potential of our participants by providing information and assistance regarding financial aid and academic opportunities

Description:
The RIEOC, a federal TRIO program, provides free and confidential information and assistance to Rhode Islanders interested in enrolling in, and those already enrolled in, postsecondary education. EOC counselors offer help with financial aid, admissions and academic issues in addition to transfer and career counseling.

History:
RIEOC was started in 1979 as part of a national family of TRIO programs established by Congress and funded under TItle IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2005. The RIEOC is funded by the Department of Education.
