Position title: Marketing/Communications Professional
Description: House of Hope Community Development Corporation (CDC) seeks a senior marketing professional interested in serving in a volunteer capacity as a Board member. In addition to general Board responsibilities, this person would play a leading role in developing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy for House of Hope, using Board and staff input and subject to Board approval. This strategy would be incorporated into the web site, newsletters, community presentations, press releases, and other publicity to increase community awareness and to strengthen our donor base.

Established in 1989, House of Hope has become a trusted resource for Rhode Islanders in need of temporary and permanent housing and other critical, lifesaving supports. These supports include life skills training, employment training, basic needs assistance, and mental health counseling and restores for residents a sense of community that the stigma of homelessness had stripped away. As a community development corporation House of Hope works toward a fully inclusive Rhode Island where all citizens have access to safe, affordable housing and are empowered to realize their fullest potential through meaningful participation in civic life.

As steward of the public trust, the Board of Directors is responsible for governance, the ongoing process of due diligence to assure the health and effectiveness of the corporation. The Board has the power to govern the affairs and property of the corporation, in keeping with policies it establishes that define the Board’s scope of authority and limitations.
