Last updated on May 8, 2008

Our Sixth Annual Walk for Children will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Roger Williams Park Carousel area from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Walk will include over three hours of great family fun. There will be a sanctioned 5K race for runners, and a walk in the park for the whole family led by Channel 10's Patrice Wood. Panera Bread will hold the kid's race around the Carousel.

After the walk, there will be non-stop entertainment for all ages.

Kids will love the carousel rides, face painting, make your own tee shirts and puppet show by Dan Butterworth. Kids of all ages can dance to the tunes of DJ Victor Ramos and Raymond Vargas. Or relax with a chair massage by Relaxation Works. The Met School will be there with a stage full of entertainment. Amica will offer Family Safety and MetLife will be there with Snoopy and Van.

Participants can have a chance to bid on the Silent Auction items while they savor delicious treats from Panera Bread and Pizza Pie-er. Target will have plenty of water to quench your thirst as well.

Prizes will be awarded for winners of the 5K Race and the Kid's Race.

Last year's Walk helped raise awareness to the importance of investing in vulnerable children early. Please join us on May 31 to help Children's Friend support Rhode Island 's most vulnerable children.

Volunteers are needed to help organize and lead our walk and keep it fun for everyone!

No special training or requirements.
