History:
The Hispanic Center was founded in 1967 by a group of Latino community leaders as a civic center to preserve their language and culture. As the Latino community grew and the needs changed so did the mission of the agency.
Today, the Latino community, the fastest growing population in the state and the largest minority group in this area, numbers between 20,000 to 25,000.

The Hispanic Center is the only agency in this area working for and representing the Latino.
