A non profit organization that provides free medical care to children of need in developing countries and the United States. Our vision is to have a world where every child has access to medical care irregardless of where he/she may reside.

Description:
Based in New Milford, Connecticut, HTCNE coordinates volunteer services of more than 4,000 medical professionals and 100 hospitals located throughout the northeastern U.S. Since 1982, more than 75,000 from 65 countries have benefited from our services. Each year our surgical teams complete 20 surgical trips around the world; heal more than 3,000 children; donate nearly $5 million of medical services. Our organization is the single largest regional organization of its kind in the country, measured by our number of volunteers and successful accomplishments

Our International Inbound program locates hospitals and doctors willing to donate their services to children from overseas whose medical problems are too complex to be treated in their local countries. These children are provided with a host home, round trip airline transportation, and any travel papers necessary in order for them to come to the US for said treatment.

Our Domestic Kids Program provides medical treatment and advocacy services to local children lacking financial resources or insurance benefits. Services include surgery, prescription drugs, eye and dental care as well as advocacy services for children in need of health insurance and specialized medical care.

Our annual operating budget is approximately $300,000 which means that 95% of total revenues are applied directly to medical programs and services.

History:
Incorporated in 1985, officially, began operating in the State of Connecticut in 1983, however. To date, we have provided our services to over 75,000 children worldwide, many of them right here in the U.S.
