It is our goal to provide a wide range of fun, safe and supervised activities for all school age children. Our programs range in degree of structure. We often find the children will dictate the amount of structure each activity needs.
Description:
The Club serves the needs of boys & girls grades 1-12. It is our goal to provide at least two structured activities per week-per age group through quality programs. However the biggest benefit to being a member is bieng at the club on any given day and finding and creating your own fun.
History:
The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield was originally a place for boys only. Ironically enough it was an idea concieved by local women in 1936. Many of the larger estates and farms in town were serviced and maintained by immagrants with young children. While they were busy a good deal of the time with chores they did have some free time. The thought of a Boys club was to keep the young men out of trouble. With cooperation from the town of Ridefield, The boys Club was born July 22 1936.
