The Lutheran Home of Southbury, Inc. is an affiliate of Lutheran Social Services of New England.
Description:
The Lutheran Home of Southbury since 1918. We are a long term nursing care and rehabilitation facility. We have recently changed our philosophy of care from the traditional medical model of care to a social model of care.Volunteers are integral in promoting this sense of community.Sixty eight percent of our residents have some form of dementia or Alzheimer's disease,volunteers assist in programs that are designed for individual resident's success and run seven days a week. Residents of the Lutheran Home are throuoghly involved in activity focused care.
History:
The Lutheran Home of Southbury has served and cared for people in need since 1918.A non-profit 120 bed skilled nursing care and rehabilitation center and a Residental Care Home which welcomes people of all faiths, the Lutheran Home has served hundreds of area residents through the years. It has earned a reputation for caring for elderly people with the highest degree of competence and compassion and will continue that level of care for years to come.
